Mr. Shinji Ushiro Appointed President and CEO of VTI Technologies Oy
Mr. Shinji Ushiro, Corporate Senior Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing Unit, Murata Manufacturing, is appointed President and CEO of VTI Technologies Oy and Chairman of Murata Electronics Europe B.V. as of 1 June 2012.
VTI's Board of Directors and current President and CEO Mr. Markku Hirvonen have mutually agreed that Mr. Hirvonen will leave his position as President and CEO as of 31 May 2012. Mr. Hirvonen has been working as VTI's President and CEO since 2007. During this time the company has implemented several reform projects and got back to the growth path. Mr. Hirvonen has also had a major role in finding a new owner for VTI Technologies.

Mr. Ushiro started his career in 1971 at Japan Steel Works and has, since 1981, built a career within Murata occupying various managerial positions. He has worked, among other responsibilities, in the Murata Overseas Unit and as Vice President of Murata Europe. Since 2003, Mr. Ushiro has been in charge of Murata's global Sales and Marketing.
