Heikki Kuisma, Vice President, Research of VTI, named as the Electronic Engineer of the Year
Elektroniikkainsinöörien seura ry (EIS) (Finnish Association of Electronic Engineers) has granted Heikki Kuisma (M.Sc. (Eng)), Vice President, Research of VTI Technologies Oy, a courtesy title of the Electronic Engineer of the Year at Elkom 07 ECT conference in Helsinki, Finland. The recognition is grounded by Heikki Kuisma's persistent work in developing micromechanics and in creating new business based on it.
As the Vice President, Research of VTI, Heikki Kuisma is responsible for the company's research activities, concept development and development of manufacturing technologies for microelectromechanical (MEMS) sensors. Heikki Kuisma has also actively participated in and contributed to the European technology programs.
Kuisma graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology in 1978. At the beginning of his career he worked as a researcher at VTT, and in 1980 he started as a research engineer in Vaisala Corporation with MEMS components. Kuisma has been working for VTI since its establishment in 1991, and he has acted the Vice President, Research of the company since 2006.
